What really makes Ace Combat stand out to me is how they build the legend of the protagonist from a young rookie or a drifting merc to a pilot who becomes the terror of death to their enemies and the wings of hope to their allies. Literally no other franchise deals with this build better, and earning your new title like "demon lord of the round table" no other game really gives you that swell of pride like Ace Combat.

In every Ace Combat game, you're EARNING the respect and admiration of your allies, and the fear and hatred of your enemies. It is a legitimate progression of the main character starting off as someone seen as a green horn and becoming the most badass ace pilot of the skies as they demonstrate their skill in various planes. Halo is fun for its trip, but for me? Ace Combat makes the progression in each story *satisfying* to sit through.

I kinda like how when you give the main characters their own intro, it feels like you're on the opposite side about to face them. Imagine seeing the part with 'Demon Lord' or the 'Ghosts of Razgriz' sequence before you face them in a squadron fight, that would be real intimidating.
Honestly? I'm sad we haven't seen an AC spinoff, as some poor Yuke or Stovie chopper pilot just fighting to have a home to land at and to keep their friends and comrades safe... only to run into what is, to them, a disconnected god that *will* wipe them off the map if they don't get the hell out *now.* You per-campaign kill count frequently lies in the realm of thousands of soldiers, but the effect on enemy morale is always portrayed as a sort-of friendly rivalry-to-nemesis relationship, not a genuine response to the hurricane-like horror monster that you regularly become, so.. why not explore that? Would be a nice mirror to the main games kissing your boots all the time.
Derpy 1109 While we’re talking about spinoffs, why couldn’t the Real World setting AC game been in WWII or something with gameplay a la Sky Crawlers? Imagine flying a Komet with a strict 5 minute timer on the mission to shoot down all bombers in before you run out of fuel
I like the touch of having Wardog/Razgriz flying F-14s during all their clips. It's their "canon" plane, even if it's not actually available for mission 3 (Edge's introduction).
Man, you gotta give it to the Ace Combat series: The gameplay isn't realistic but it's fun as hell, the soundtrack is an absolute banger (the spanish guitars in Zero remain my favourite) and the story and writing are so good, even if it might be a bit cringy and overly convoluted at times. Those one liners just stick the landing

Damn AC is one of the few games I keep repeating and still gets goosebumps on whenever the legendary aces' name or the squadron gets mentioned by the enemy and they realize they cannot stop them to fight for what they believed in. Just wish they would give us some remasters using the current engine. God l need this so badly but I doubt it will ever happen.

I won't lie after playing the ace combat series I cried. Its such an emotional roller coaster but in the end it was all worth it. Thank you other pilots from all generations for flying by my side and I hope we can all fight and fly again.

The original Ace Combat(also called Air Combat) was the first game I ever played in my entire life, when I was only 4 years old, and it was love at first sight for me. I've stuck with the series through every step of the way ever since, and I never looked back from it. The storylines were epic, the characters were well developed, and the planes were excellent, even creating their own fictional models that actually look plausible in real life. The continuity in story between the PS2 games(4, 5, Zero), the Xbox 360 title(6), and the current gen(7) was a definite plus for me, and I'm proud to see so many people share the same love I have for these fantastic games. This was a definite love letter to the fans who stuck to the series all these years, and it really shows how far we've come, and how much passion PROJECT ACES has for it all. These games are a once in a lifetime experience that will have a place in my heart til the day I die.
This feels like a final Ace Combat montage like a thank you for it laying Ace Combat got me emotional, hopefully this ain’t the end and just the beginning of a new generation of Ace Combat

Project Aces sure has projects to place some unnumbered (not AC8) games in the canon that may take place in the 80's like the Rectan conflict or Estovakia civil war, leasath civil war, Erusean expansionists wars that Mihaly fought in, the bloody war, the mysterious war in the 1940's that has a top Ace on it (check on acepedia about this). And there's just many things to go for.

As someone who's played Air Combat (the first Ace Combat) to AC7's 1st mission and not having the pleasure of having an XBOX to play AC6, this was TRULY one of the most amazing and tear jerking thing I've ever seen! Thank you!
this video still makes me emotional, like, you know what I mean? its the comrades we find along the way, the amazing soundtrack and level design, such breathtaking landscapes, memorable encounters and rivals. every time I watch this, I think of what would happen if all the aces, all squadrons and all factions joined together to face an even greater threat. I kinda feel like playing ace combat 7 now.
Trigger is one of my favourites on this list... sadly I was born in a generation that is almost blind about this brilliant franchise... I only played AC7 but plan to play all of them thanks for inspiration!
You gotta give it to Ace Combat Their callsigns are just so fucking cool I was a tanker in the military and don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my tank for anything since it is its own experience but god damn if these games don't make me want a jet
I kinda wish the co-pilots were actual characters in Ace Combat. I get that not all planes have 2 seats, so it would add another layer of complexity to the game mechanics and story for the developers, plus newer generation planes are single seat. However, at the same time it's kinda weird that they just sit there and aren't really shown to actively be doing anything, especially after something crazy happens. Plus they could kind of speak on your behalf since the player's characters are always silent. I dunno, the games are fine as they are though.
The co-pilots are actually dummies that were inflated once the player character steps in the pilot seat. That explains why during High-g turns they dont immediately throw up everywhere
This might be a tad bit late, but I just imagine they are the ones saying "Fox One" or anything instead of AWACS when you do anything. Makes more sense to me, even if I'm not much of an aircraft nut.
Or maybe even add a mission where you're not allowed to fly two-seaters... because your co-pilot needs to get on his/her own plane and fight beside you, for reasons.

エスコンシリーズ屈指の名言といえるでしょうね。
The original Ace Combat(also called Air Combat) was the first game I ever played in my entire life, when I was only 4 years old, and it was love at first sight for me. I've stuck with the series through every step of the way ever since, and I never looked back from it. The storylines were epic, the characters were well developed, and the planes were excellent, even creating their own fictional models that actually look plausible in real life. The continuity in story between the PS2 games(4, 5, Zero), the Xbox 360 title(6), and the current gen(7) was a definite plus for me, and I'm proud to see so many people share the same love I have for these fantastic games.
This was a definite love letter to the fans who stuck to the series all these years, and it really shows how far we've come, and how much passion PROJECT ACES has for it all. These games are a once in a lifetime experience that will have a place in my heart til the day I die.
コンセプトが「超本格的な飛行機ごっこ」ってこともあって、現実じゃありえない変態機動や兵器搭載量に賛否両論だったけど、めっちゃ楽しかったなこのゲーム。
意味もなくトンネルの中や橋の下、ビルの間を、さらに意味もなくロールしながらくぐってみたり、攻略サイトを見ずに血眼になってネームド探したり、機銃のみ縛りでトライしたり‥
長年にわたり楽しませてもらった。
過去形じゃねぇ…まだ楽しめるさ…

その1年前、mission1のスタート時の『プレゼントには勝利を頼む』と繋がっていて余計に印象に残りました
黄色中隊と最初に会敵した時は、交戦不許可、損害に構わずとにかく逃げろ、と命令されましたからね…
今の俺ならやれると認められた、やってやる！と本気で熱くなったもんです。

7からの新参者ですが、カウントの「ハハハｯ命令違反だぞ!この大馬鹿野郎!!」ってセリフがずっと好きです。
ちょうどライバル的な関係から信頼関係に変わってアイツなら絶対やれるという信頼の中、飛ぶのは最高でした
他のエスコンも自分が感じたようにとんでもない感動があるのだと知れました。主さんありがとうございます！

@@denfire5063 there's plenty of wars to cover in Ace Combat. Don't worry. Project Aces sure has projects to place some unnumbered (not AC8) games in the canon that may take place in the 80's like the Rectan conflict or Estovakia civil war, leasath civil war, Erusean expansionists wars that Mihaly fought in, the bloody war, the mysterious war in the 1940's that has a top Ace on it (check on acepedia about this). And there's just many things to go for.

@@denfire5063 that is the bet for AC8. The REAL corporate war or at least the beginning of it with the IUN-PKF and GR and continuing the storyline with the multiplayer like Infinity did. Remember: Infinity is an 8 but in a 90 degree angle

I've never seen a tribute such as this. The shots you used, introducing pilots and their squadron, using and syncing up one of the best songs from this amazing franchise, and editing it all together beautifully to give us something special.

As someone who's played Air Combat (the first Ace Combat) to AC7's 1st mission and not having the pleasure of having an XBOX to play AC6, this was TRULY one of the most amazing and tear jerking thing I've ever seen! Thank you!
The first time I beat an Ace Combat game (7, in really early 2022), I shed tears of joy at the amazing experience that I had just concluded.
Perhaps one of the best video introducing every key members of each squadron. Let's just hope this list keeps growing towards the sky...

this video still makes me emotional, like, you know what I mean? its the comrades we find along the way, the amazing soundtrack and level design, such breathtaking landscapes, memorable encounters and rivals. every time I watch this, I think of what would happen if all the aces, all squadrons and all factions joined together to face an even greater threat. I kinda feel like playing ace combat 7 now.

作中のあらゆる人たちのインタビューをしながら追う事により、
彼自身もおそらくは仲間内やらの情報網などで「自分を探す者がいる」という事は知っていたと思われる。
が、「結果的には逢えなかった」となっていることからして、
『伝説は伝説のままが良い』として姿を出さなかったと推測するね。

I was a tanker in the military and don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my tank for anything since it is its own experience but god damn if these games don't make me want a jet

This series was my childhood I was 4 when I played ace combat 4 and I loved this series in every sense this video just warms my heart
All my years of service in Ace Combat series, this makes me cry with all the battle memories.
I kinda wish the co-pilots were actual characters in Ace Combat. I get that not all planes have 2 seats, so it would add another layer of complexity to the game mechanics and story for the developers, plus newer generation planes are single seat. However, at the same time it's kinda weird that they just sit there and aren't really shown to actively be doing anything, especially after something crazy happens. Plus they could kind of speak on your behalf since the player's characters are always silent. I dunno, the games are fine as they are though.
The co-pilots are actually dummies that were inflated once the player character steps in the pilot seat. That explains why during High-g turns they dont immediately throw up everywhere

This might be a tad bit late, but I just imagine they are the ones saying "Fox One" or anything instead of AWACS when you do anything. Makes more sense to me, even if I'm not much of an aircraft nut.
Or maybe even add a mission where you're not allowed to fly two-seaters... because your co-pilot needs to get on his/her own plane and fight beside you, for reasons.
I believe in air combat the guy shouting stuff is your co-pilot. Man, I miss that guy.
